Bronze drawn penne rigate are an excellent choice for pasta lovers. The bronze drawn process gives them a rough surface, which holds the sauce better. This makes them perfect for dishes such as the classic “pasta al pomodoro” or for more elaborate recipes with rich sauces and tasty condiments. They were born in Genova in 1865, at the hands of a pasta manufacturer named Giovanni Battista Capurro. It was he, who patented a diagonal cutting machine that allowed the creation of a new pasta shape, similar to a goose feather cut obliquely, from which it took its name. Before then, pasta was generally cut by hand with knives or scissors, obtaining irregular shapes. Penne immediately had great success, thanks to their practicality and their flavor.
