An Innovative Journey from Wheat, to Semolina, to Pasta through four Generations

SINCE 1923

BRUNDU: History of Innovation and Passion of a Family in the World of Semolina and Pasta

The history of the Brundu family has been closely linked to the production of high-quality semolina for four generations. It all began in 1923 when Andrea Brundu, a skilled mechanic, decided to build an innovative mill in Nule, a village that had no electricity. His mill, powered by an internal combustion engine and a steam boiler, revolutionised semolina production in the area, offering an excellent product in a shorter time.

Andrea Brundu‘s ingenuity did not stop there. In fact, he used the mill’s dynamo to generate the electricity needed to illuminate not only his workshop but also the entire village. This was the first sign of the great innovative spirit that still characterises the Brundu family today.

Sebastiano, Andrea’s son, carried on the family’s innovative legacy with his unique experience as a mechanical engineer and flying gunner. It was he, who convinced the family to invest in the revolutionary roller mills, which, by offering high-quality technological performance, surpassed traditional milling techniques.
From that moment on, Brundu‘s brand leadership was greatly strengthened. The family built five state-of-the-art technological plants, consolidating their position as pioneers in the field of grain milling. This breakthrough is an important milestone in the history of the Brundu family and underlines their commitment to innovation and excellence.
